COVID-19 continues to affect communities across the nation. GLAM Peak and its member organisations are monitoring the current COVID-19 outbreak closely and wish to express concern for the health and wellbeing of people and the sector.
We recognise that many GLAM organisations standard operating procedures have been disrupted with postponements, cancellations and closing to the public effecting both GLAM organisations and the wider community.
GLAM Peak supports the decision of organisations to close at their discretion to mitigate risks associated with COVID-19, and stresses the importance of the role of the GLAM sector in maintaining the welfare of their community and their staff during times of crisis.
We acknowledge that this is a fast-changing situation, and that circumstances may vary depending on the geographic location and nature of services provided by the GLAM organisation and encourage all GLAM organisations to monitor information provided by their local health department.
We will continue to draw directly on current advice and information provided by both Federal and State government authorities and to monitor the far reaching impacts on the sector.
We urge all to stay safe, informed and vigilant, and to check on your family, friends and neighbours.
